One man was killed and a second arrested at Greenstone Crescent Shopping Centre this afternoon following a shoot-out with members of the Gauteng Flying Squad.
Spokesperson for the Edenvale SAPS, Warrant Officer, Jean Olckers said officers from the Flying Squad were following up on information which related to criminal activity.
“The officers were in the Greenstone area when they noticed two suspects on foot,” W/O Olckers said.
As the officers the suspects in the parking area one of the occupants produced a pistol and attempted to shoot the officers.
The officers retaliated.
One of the suspects was shot and killed while the second was arrested at the scene.
One firearm was also recovered at the scene.
