Last chance to enter writing competition

There is less than a month to go before the Caxton Creative Writing Competition comes to an end.

The competition is in its sixth year of running. It is characterised by its incredible response, amazing opportunities and tons of giveaways. This year, Caxton East and South Division has partnered with Matrix Warehouse to give school children in Ekurhuleni and the South of Johannesburg an opportunity to let their talent shine.

To be part of this amazing competition, all you need to do is write a story in 300 words.

The topic: Tell us how writing has helped you as a person in your everyday life.
To enter, email your story to info@caxtoncreativewriting.co.za or drop your entry at any Caxton local newspaper office before August 31.
Entrants must provide proof of residence, and supply full names, age, name of their schools and contact numbers.

Caxton Creative Writing Competition aims not only to equip South Africa’s youth with the tools to nurture their creative talent, but also to alert them to the career opportunities available in advertising, journalism and media, through having basic creative writing skills.
This year, Caxton Local Newspapers, together with Matrix Warehouse, will give teenagers between Grade Eight and 12, in Ekurhuleni and the City of Johannesburg, an opportunity to win a Lenovo laptop. The winner will also be mentored by Caxton local media editors.
The winners will be chosen via a judging panel. The judge’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
