Bishop Bavin announces new head of college

She has a Bachelor of Arts, a Higher Education Diploma and an Honours in Education.

Bishop Bavin School recently announced the appointment of Mrs Karen Ehlers as Head of College from September.

She has a Bachelor of Arts, a Higher Education Diploma and an Honours in Education.

She started at Bishop Bavin in 2004 as a relief teacher in the English department and rose through the ranks, first as senior head of department (English and Additional Languages) in 2005, then head of academics in 2009 and then Deputy-head of College in 2011. In addition, Mrs Ehlers is Head of the Language School.

Mrs Ehlers is also an IEB Senior Certificate Examiner.

She is married and has two adult children.

Executive Headmaster, Mr Alistair Dry. wished Mrs Ehlers well in her new position.

“I have had the fortune of working closely with Mrs Ehlers for the past three years and have every confidence in her ability to lead the college and the Language School into the next exciting phases of growth and development,” said Mr Dry.
