Mother Tongue a success

"The next edition of Mother Tongue will come out in October."

Local schools received their first issues of the Mother Tongue Youth Newspaper, a Caxton initiative that assists individuals to express themselves in their own languages.

The newspaper’s content was provided by local pupils from participating schools.

The newspaper contains articles, poetry and artwork.

Edenvale schools participating in the project were Holy Rosary School, Edenvale High School, School of Merit High School and Dowerglen High School.

“The paper includes content such as opinions, events, activities, lifestyle, arts and culture, technology, competitions, galleries, careers, future ideas, life coaching, sport and education,” said Caxton branch manager Mr Chris Mcinga, when the NEWS previously reported on the initiative on April 26.

“The next edition of Mother Tongue will come out in October. We encourage high school students to submit articles to mothertongue@caxton.co.za,” said Mr Mcinga.
