A man who was arrested in Yeoville on July 5, at about 4pm, has been linked to various robberies in the Yeoville area.
He was arrested at the corner of Hendon and Kenmere streets following a routine patrol by the SAPS.
“The police officers were on duty when they spotted two men acting suspiciously at the street corner. When the police stopped, the men ran in different directions. The police managed to apprehend one suspect. They found a gas gun and pepper spray in his possession. He was arrested and detained at the Yeoville Police Station for possession of a dangerous weapon,” said the Yeoville SAPS spokesperson, Constable Thabo Malatji.
“The suspect has been linked to five robberies committed in Yeoville from early this year,” said Constable Malatji.
