Do not panic, remain calm its only a drill

"There will be emergency vehicles on site, we request shoppers and passers-by to not panic,"

Bedford will be conducting a planned evacuation drill on Thursday July 14 at 7.30am.

The areas which will be evacuated will be the Bedford Office Tower as well as the Bedford Centre tenants.

“There will be emergency vehicles on site, we request shoppers and passers-by to not panic as this forms part of the planned evacuation drill,” said Ms Nikki Savides marketing manager of the Bedford Centre.

She said that “It is a legal requirement from the Municipal by-laws to conduct a drill such as this annually.”
