Similar modus operandi used in second Dowerglen liquor store robbery

Six armed men robbed the liquor store and took an undisclosed amount of cash.

A second Dowerglen liquor store has fallen victim to armed robbers within a span of two weeks .

The robbery took place on July 4 at 6:50pm.

Six armed men robbed the liquor store and took an undisclosed amount of cash.

“A member from the Edenvale Community Policing Forum  (ECPF) confirmed that six men robbed the store after watching security camera footage, the member suspected that more men were outside keeping a lookout,” said Mrs Linda Mckenzie ECPF chairperson.

“Customers were made to lie on the shop floor, their money and cellphones were also taken. The robbers took money andgoods from the store,” said Mrs Mckenzie.

An eyewitness claims to have seen the six men flee in a white Bantam bakkie.

On June 25 a liquor store was robbed by six men who were seen by the store manager to have fled in a white Bantam bakkie

Edenvale SAPS station commander Colonel Eddie Trollip confirmed that the incident did take place.

“We don’t have any information linking the two incidents, but it is possible that they are related”.
