Teboho has a bright future

"I would like to play professional rugby one day but my main goal is to further my studies"

Eighteen-year-old Teboho Ramodibe is a humble young man with a bright future.

Born in Krugersdorp, this Jeppe High School for Boys pupil, said rugby is his passion and if an opportunity arises for him to pursue it professionally, he will grab it with both hands.

He also aims to further his education.

“I would like to play professional rugby one day but my main goal is to further my studies and make a living,” said Teboho.

Teboho said rugby was not even his first choice of sport.

“But the rugby coaches approached me to try out for the team. I was a hockey player and the rugby coach asked me to join the trials for the rugby team.

“I accepted and that is when my passion for the game was born,” said Teboho.

He said when he started he was not expecting much but as he continued playing his love for rugby grew.

“I made first team in primary school. My coach Mr Kok was very influential in my success,” said Teboho.

Teboho saids he has seen improvements in his game.

Teboho supports the Stormers.

“I was them every time they played, and Siyabonga ‘Scarra’ Ntubeni inspires me tremendously. His style of playing inspires me,” said Teboho.

Teboho said his highlights were playing at the recent Wynberg Festival and being selected for the dream team and also playing at Emirates Park stadium for the Stormers vs Lions curtain raiser earlier this year.
