Last week power outages continued to intensify in Kensington and surrounding areas.
According to reports by City Power the outages were the result of illegal connections which overloaded the network.
“The recent power failures in the area were not a ward problem but rather a citywide problem. People used heaters which doubled or tripled the electricity load. This eventually collapsed the network,” said ward 66 councillor, Clr Carlos da Rocha.
“The problems will only get worse each year if something is not done,” he said.
