Police officers from the Bedfordview SAPS made several arrests recently.

On June 8, a 33-year-old man was arrested for being in possession of a suspected stolen vehicle.

“An SAPS member patrolling the area of Meadowdale was alerted to a suspicious motor vehicle at Meadowdale Mall. On arrival, the officer found a black Citroen C2 in the parking lot with two men inside the vehicle. The officer searched the two individuals and checked the vehicle, which came back with a positive connection to a fraudulent hire purchase case in Bronkhorstspruit,” said the Bedfordview SAPS communications officer, Warrant Officer Mduduzi Nhlabathi.

On June 11, 29 undocumented individuals were arrested by the Bedfordview SAPS at the Mercure Hotel, near Eastgate shopping centre.

On June 13, the SAPS was notified and received information about a hijacked vehicle along the R24 in Bedfordview. Members of the SAPS stopped the vehicle.

The male suspect was found to be driving without a licence, while the passenger had a valid license. The vehicle was checked and it was found that the vehicle had been hijacked in Boksburg.
