Cleveland SAPS are investigating a case of robbery after a security guard was approached by five men while on duty at Whitworth Road in Heriotdale on June 9 at 2:10am.
“While he was checking the yard he was approached by the men and one had a pistol and two had big spanners. They instructed him to keep quiet.
“They tied his hands and legs with his shoelaces and took him to a container. Four of them left and the one with firearm stayed behind. After a period of time the suspect who held the guard at gunpoint, also left,’’ said Cleveland SAPS spokesperson Constable Mpho Mashakane.
The guard managed to untie himself and alert others who contacted the security managers.
Six truck tyres, three cellular phones, one kettle and one microwave were taken.
