Park Meadows allows charities to shine

Park Meadows is calling on all registered charity organisations to put up their stands at the mall for four days.

The Park Meadows Shopping Center will be giving more than 67 minutes in commemorating International Nelson Mandela Day.

Park Meadows is calling on all registered charity organisations to place their stands at the mall for four days.

“We would like to give the charities what they need. By having them here, interacting with people, they will be granted that opportunity. This will also assist people in educating themselves about the different charities out there and to understand what is needed by them,” said Mr Leo Van Straten, the regional marketing manager of Redefine Properties, the owners of Park Meadows.

This year will be the fourth year the centre is running the project.

The charities will be at the centre from Tuesday, July 14 to Saturday, July 17. The stands will be operated from 10am until 5pm.

“We invite shoppers to donate anything they may not have use for anymore. It can be clothes, canned food or anything else that may be of use to charity. People can drop off these items at Park Meadows from June 1. The centre will then allow the participating charities to take anything that they may need from those donations,” said Mr Straten.

The initiative coordinator, Mrs Sandi van Tonder, said she would love to see new charities coming to inform the community of the work they do.

“We invite all registered charities to come and take advantage of this opportunity to spread the word about their activities, goals and purposes,” said Mrs van Tonder.
