An Edenvale SAPS officer sustained minor injuries during a shoot-out with armed suspects this afternoon in Illiondale.
According to information officer noticed a suspicious metallic colored Mercedes Benz with three individuals outside the vehicle, and two individuals in the car.
Edenvale SAPS acting communication officer, Warrant Officer Jean Olckers, the suspects opened fire and the officer retaliated.
All Thembisa North Cluster stations were sent assistance to the officer.
“No arrests were made” said W/O Olckers.
The suspects fled the scene in the vehicle and on foot
SAPS, EMPD, JMPD, Savika K9 Unit, Emer-G-Med were on the scene.
