The Mini Oscars is an annual event that not only acts as a fundraiser for charities, but also recognises local school productions and the talented children who act in them.

Performances and productions are reviewed by the Red Bin Brigade. These reviews are done after the productions by means of the concert DVDs. The performances are judged and nominated and Oscar award winners are then selected.

The winning categories include best school productions, best actors and best actresses. Winners walk away with certificates, medals and prizes.

The schools involved were Monte Waldi, Petra Christian School, Elma Park Pre-Primary, Gina’s Kidz Paradise, Happy Kids, Trixi’s Kids and Stepping Stones.
