Residents urged to attend meeting

Those unable to attend can submit their input via email.

Residents of Cyrildene and the surrounding areas are invited to a public participation meeting which will be held on May 18.

The meeting, to discuss the Cyrildene Urban Development Framework (UDF), will be held at 6pm.

The intention is to address the main concerns of the affected community, and to make proposals for the future development and urban management of the area.

A second public meeting will be held on June 8 to discuss the draft proposals for the UDF and a final public meeting will be held on July 6.

The meeting will be held at Queens High School.

The meetings were announced after the Johannesburg Development Agency, on behalf of City of Johannesburg Development Planning, appointed a consulting firm to investigate the current state of affairs in and around Derrick Avenue in Cyrildene.

The first meeting is for issues to be raised by the residents and these will be used as a backdrop to the planning proposals that will follow.

Residents are urged to attend. Those unable to attend can submit their input via email to the appointed consultants, vbh@vbhplan.com, before, or on the date of the meeting.
