Jumble sale to be hosted at Thembalami

The aim is to add excitement to the family day by also hosting a fundraising jumble sale that is open to the public.

The Thembalami Care Centre will hold a jumble sale at its monthly Family Day on May 28.

The Rand Aid-run care centre holds a social each month to encourage family members and friends to spend a few hours with their loved ones.

The aim is to add excitement to the family day by also hosting a fundraising jumble sale that is open to the public.

The community is urged to be there from 8am.

Items that will be sold at the jumble sale include second-hand clothing, books, white elephant items and hand-made articles such as scatter cushions, embroidered table cloths, knitted Teddy bears and scarves.

All these were made by senior citizens from Alexandra, who visit Thembalami as part of the care centre’s outreach programme.

Tea and cake will be available in the occupational therapy department for the family members and friends of residents.

Members of the public can enjoy wors rolls and cool drinks.
