Jeppe High School for Boys is building a legacy of excellence in sport.

The school just completed a state-of-the-art indoor cricket centre, which was officially opened on April 21.

Coach Doug Watson said the centre will help the team improve its performance.

“It is fantastic to have such a facility. It’s brilliant to use for one-on-one practice as it helps the player to be able to see what mistakes they are making and what they can improve on,” said Watson.

“The school initiated the project as cricket has always been an important factor at the school. To have such a facility will assist the school team.

“In 2015 we lost 70 percent of practice because of rain. With this indoor pitch, we will always be able to practice even when it is raining,” said former Jeppe boy, Mr Kevin Robins.

“It has always been the school’s wish to have such a facility.”

The PitchVision is a state-of-the-art cricket analysis system, combining motion tracking and video analysis into one tool.

Powered by one laptop, PV/ONE brings performance feedback to the fingertips of the masses from grass roots to professionals.

The project was made possible through donations, with a major contribution coming from the Schoonbee family.

The cricket team tests out the new indoor cricket centre.
