Winter collection drive begins

The collection area is located in an empty store at entrance three.

Greenstone Shopping Centre’s annual winter collection drive is back and will run until May 31.

Ms Charmain Qofela, the marketing assistant for Greenstone Shopping Centre, said warming up the community is a core project that is close to the their hearts.

Greenstone urged residents to help grow a collection of blankets, warm clothes and winter accessories.

The collection area is located in an empty store at entrance three, close to Dion Wired. The store is styled with empty shelves and mannequins, waiting for you to help dress them.

Winter time is always when the less fortunate need some extra help to keep warm.

Donate new or gently used blankets, winter clothing such as tracksuits, jerseys, scarves, beanies and gloves.

These items can be dropped off at the collection point, which will be open daily during centre hours.

“All those who donate will be given a gift as a token of our appreciation, as well as a chance to nominate their preferred charity,” said Ms Qofela.

She said the items will be donated on May 31 to the top three recipients from the nomination list.

Customers are welcome to come through to the handover on the day.
