Apply for a scholarship opportunity

The metro is offering a great opportunity to deserving students.

The metro invites young people to apply for a once-in-a-lifetime scholarship to study in fields that will consolidate the metro as an aerotropolis.

The scholarship offers 20 young people below the age of 35 an opportunity to study at Breda University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands for four years, from August 1, 2016, until June, 2020.

All expenses will be paid and the closing date is Friday, April 29, at 4pm.

“The metro has adopted a 30-year Aerotropolis Master Plan as a strategic city development tool to promote and stimulate the airport economy around the OR Tambo International Airport,” said the metro’s executive mayor, Clr Mondli Gungubele.

“The Ekurhuleni Growth and Development Strategy 2055 identified investment in human development as a priority area of focus in enhancing the growth trajectory of the regional economy of the metro, as well as in the implementation of the 30-year master plan.”

The mayor added that the partnership between the metro, the Breda Municipality and Breda University of Applied Sciences will expose 20 successful candidates to specialised programmes in transportation, aviation and logistics.
