Artist shares her passion with group

Ms Marx finds inspiration in people and places, in South Africa and abroad.

Ms Elaine Marx's preferred mediums are oils and her technique has been developed over the last 30 years by visiting a number of art schools after completing her four-year teaching studies.

Artist and art teacher, Ms Elaine Marx, hosted a demonstration for the Paint & Palette Group.

The demonstration was held at the Edenvale Community Centre on April 16.

Ms Marx finds inspiration in people and places, in South Africa and abroad.

“A beautiful place can easily create the urge to put my impression of it on a canvas,” said Ms Marx.

Rembrandt and Claude Monet are her main influences.

Ms Marx demonstrated the painting of a seascape in oils, with a particular focus on how to paint a wave.
