A woman is in a serious condition in hospital after she was thrown from the third floor by her partner in Yeoville on Wednesday.
The Yeoville SAPS spokesperson, Constable Thabo Malatji, said the couple was arguing in a flat along Grafton Street at about 7am.
“The man tied her hands and feet with masking tape and threw her from a balcony. When she landed on the ground, he tried to flee the scene but was caught by members of the community. He was beaten by the community until the police rescued him,” said Const Malatji.
The woman sustained serious injuries.
“The man is also in hospital under police guard,” said Const Malatji.
The man has been charged with attempted murder.
