Sports day a hit with Little Eden residents

The events brought smiles to the faces of the participants.

A sporting and stimulation programme was held at Little Eden, a society for people who are mentally handicapped in Edenvale.

The event was held on April 6 and staff, along with residents of Little Eden, enjoyed the day.

The sports day required participation in activities that catered for all individuals.

The activities included ball throwing, wheelchair racing, a relay and a staff race. All the events brought smiles to the participants’ faces.

After each event, participating residents received medals and awards.

“The children loved the day. There was great excitement,” said Ms Veronica Mannix, the public relations manager of Little Eden.

“The activities are beneficial to the residents and keep them active and stimulated, as it contributes to their well-being and development,” said Little Eden’s public relations and communications officer, Ms Nichollette Muthige.
