Robbery suspect apprehended by resident

A community member apprehended a suspect after four men robbed a woman in Yeoville on March 12, shortly after 8pm.

The Yeoville SAPS spokesperson, Constable Thabo Malatji, said the resident noticed four men robbing a woman at knife-point at the corner of Bedford and Muller streets.

“The men took the woman’s cellular phone. As they were leaving the scene, the resident confronted them. Some of the susptects fled the scene but the resident was able to apprehend one of the men. The SAPS was called to the scene.

“The investigation led to the arrest of the other two men, next to the corner of Raleigh and Kenemere streets,” said Const Mashakane.

She said the women’s cellular phone was recovered from one of the men.
