Enthralling evening of photography to come

The Modderfontein Conservation Society (MCS) and the Edenvale Photographic Club (EPC) have joined forces to present an entertaining and enthralling evening of photography at the next MCS evening meeting.

The Modderfontein Conservation Society (MCS) and the Edenvale Photographic Club (EPC) have joined forces to present an entertaining and enthralling evening of photography.

This will be held during the next MCS evening meeting when a select portfolio of photographs will be presented by Mr Dave and Mrs Cathy Owen of the EPC.

The ‘Wonders of Nature’ presentation will focus on birds, animals, insects and landscapes. It follows the MCS annual general meeting, which will begin in the Modderfontein Town Hall at 1 Casino Road at 7.30pm on March 17.

Mr and Mrs Owen have assembled many of their own works and mixed in contributions by other members of the EPC.

“Dave and I have been members of the EPC since June 2009,” said Mrs Owen.

“We are also members of the Photographic Society of South Africa, and have been awarded our ‘Affiliated’ APSSA membership, having submitted a panel of 15 digital nature images for this.”

The couple enjoys sports and landscape photography. This will be the fourth or fifth time that the EPC has made a presentation at this annual meeting. “The fact that we are invited back repeatedly attests to the quality of the works we show,” said Mr Dave Gordon, a member of both the EPC and the MCS.

The EPC caters for various types of photographic media, including black-and-white prints, colour prints and digital imagery. The MCS offers regular weekend and Tuesday walks in the Modderfontein reserve and monthly talks in the Town Hall, featuring nature-related subjects.

Visitors are welcome to attend this meeting, learn about the MCS and enjoy the photo presentation.
