A security guard was shot four times in Berea this morning.
The Hillbrow SAPS spokesperson, Sergeant Mduduzi Zondo, said the security guard was dropping off his colleague along Lilly and O’reilly streets shortly after 6am.
“As the colleague was getting out of the vehicle, an unknown man fired four shots at the driver. The man then fled the scene,” said Sgt Zondo.
Sgt Zondo said it looked like the suspect did not take anything from the car or from the deceased.
“The colleague who was being dropped off was not physically harmed or robbed during the incident,” said Sgt Zondo.
The motive of the killing is unclear but the SAPS is investigating.
