Cluster campaign launched in Jeppe SAPS precinct
Domestic violence and substance abuse was the focal point for the Hillbrow Cluster in Jeppe SAPS area.
The Hillbrow SAPS Cluster campaign against domestic violence and substance abuse launched in the Jeppe SAPS precinct on Wednesday last week.
Jeppe SAPS spokesperson, Warrant Officer Richard Munyayi said that all the stations of the cluster had to choose a prevalent crime in their area.
“We chose to focus on domestic violence and substance abuse as they are some of the prevalent crimes in our area,” he said.
He said officers from the Cluster visited areas like Mark Goodsman flats in Bez Valley.
“We distributed pamphlets and booklets on domestic violence, drug and alcohol abuse. We also did a door to door campaign where we engaged with residents and gave them information and advice on how to deal with such challenges,” W/O Munyayi said.
He said the community has to expect more operations of this kind in the precinct in future.
