Hijackers take off with cash

Four men hijacked a man in Denver.

A large amount of money was taken during a hijacking next to the corner of Main Reef and Germiston roads in Denver on February 8, shortly before 4pm.

The Cleveland SAPS spokesperson, Constable Mpho Mashakane, said a man had parked next to the intersection when four men pointed firearms at him.

“The men demanded his car keys and ordered him out of his car. They then drove off in his vehicle.

“The man said there was more than R60 000 in cash in the car, three cellular phones and a wallet containing bank cards and a driver’s licence,” said Const Mashakane.
