The Bedfordview SAPS’ Sergeant George Manala won another Top Cop Award after arresting drug dealers and users last year.
The Bedfordview SAPS spokesperson, Warrant Officer Mduduzi Nhlabathi, said in one incident Sgt Manala made 10 arrests in one week, which included drug dealers and users.
W/O Nhlabathi said on Wednesday, February 10, Sgt Manala arrested two men in separate incidents on drug-related charges in Elandsfontein.
“Just after 8am, Sgt Manala was patrolling when he stopped and searched a man. He found dagga in his possession. He then arrested another person on the same street just before 8am for the same offence. The second man had dagga weighing 1.35 grams,” said W/O Nhlabathi.
“These arrests will send a clear message to drug dealers and users that the Bedfordview SAPS is serious about rooting out drugs in the area. Both men will appear in court soon.”
