Kensington woman held up, robbed by six men

"She noticed a total of about six men inside the house."

A Kensington resident was held up during a robbery at her house on Cumberland Road.

The incident occurred on February 4, at about 2am.

“The woman was on her way to the bathroom when he saw two men armed with a spanner and a steel pipe. They told her to lie down while they ransacked the house.

“She noticed a total of about six men inside the house,” said the Cleveland SAPS spokesperson, Constable Mpho Mashakane.

The men took the woman’s husband’s wrist watch, worth R11 000, two cellular phones, shoes and an undisclosed amount of cash before they fled the scene.

Const Mashakane said the men tried to steal the family car but failed to switch on the engine.

The men gained entry by breaking the kitchen security gate.
