Bennies takes new pupils camping

New Bennies Boys build a brotherhood.

At the start of each new year, St Benedict’s College sets aside a few days to help the new grade 8 students to settle in.

The camp is an opportunity for the boys and staff to get to know each other, as well as allowing the new students to learn what is expected of them as Bennies Boys.

The matric leaders and a handful of staff accompany the boys to Parnassus Farm in the Magaliesburg. They are then placed in groups, each with a super hero name, and engage in a range of activities.

The activities include abseiling to paintballing, raft building, an obstacle course, setting up a campsite and braaing under the stars to build brotherhood and teamwork, as well as a bit of meditation and war cry practice to keep the boys centred.
