LATEST: SAPS investigates two murders

The body of a man was found with three stab wounds.

Cleveland SAPS is investigating two separate murder cases.
This is after one man was shot dead by a security officer just before midnight in Kensington while the other was found dead in the early hours of this morning in Malvern.
Constable Mpho Mashakane said a woman was sleeping when she heard a noise at her gate.
“When she looked through the window she saw three men coming in after forcefully opening her small gate. The woman called her neighbour who then called the local neighbourhood watch (residents’ security),” Const Mashakane said.
She said the men shot at the security officer when they saw him arriving.
“He returned fire hitting one of them. Two were able to escape through the back yard. One firearm was recovered at the scene,” she said.
She said the deceased and the gun have not been linked to other crimes yet.
In another separate incident Constable Mshakane said the body of a man was found with three stab wounds on the chest and one on the head before 3am.
“The body was found on the corner of Jules Street and 2nd Street in Malvern. He had stab wounds. No arrest have been made yet,” said Const Mashakane.
