After doing their practicals at the Wedge Gardens Treatment Centre in 2015, the Midrand Graduate Institute students said farewell to residents by challenging them to a friendly game of volleyball at the in-house court.

The students, all doing their Masters degrees in Counselling Psychology, did group work three days a week with those undergoing rehabilitation for substance abuse at the Rand Aid Association-run centre. Each session lasted 90 minutes.

The students also donated a filter coffee machine to the staff.

“This has added a touch of class to our coffee breaks,” said Wedge Gardens Manager, Ms Adél Grobbelaar.
