The dates are as follows:

February 13 at 8:30am, Modderfontein Conservation Society walk in the Reserve.

February 18 at 7:30pm, evening talk at the Town Hall by Ms Naomi Dinur and Mr John Cruickshank on ‘Graves at the Rietfontein Infectious Diseases Hospital’.

February 28 at 8:30am, Modderfontein Conservation Society walk in the Reserve.

March 12 at 8:30am, Modderfontein Conservation Society walk in the Reserve.

March 17 at 7:30pm, annual general meeting and talk (speaker to be advised) at the Town Hall.

March 27 at 8:30am, Modderfontein Conservation Society walk in the Reserve.

April 9 at 8:30am, Modderfontein Conservation Society walk in the Reserve.

March 21 at 7:30pm, evening talk at the Town Hall by retired Wits professor John Shochot on the rare occurrence of the transit of Mercury that will take place on May 9. This happens just 13 times in 100 years.

March 24 at 8:30am, Modderfontein Conservation Society walk in the Reserve.

May 14 at 8:30am, Modderfontein Conservation Society walk in the Reserve.

May 19 at 7:30pm, evening talk at the Town Hall by Mr Peter Webb on ‘How to Turn Your Camera into a Scientific Tool’. His talk will cover butterflies, spiders and virtual museums.

June 11 at 8:30am, Modderfontein Conservation Society walk in the Reserve.

June 23 at 9:30pm, Modderfontein Conservation Society evening meeting at the Town Hall – speaker to be advised.

July 21 at 7:30pm, evening meeting at the Town Hall – the ever popular Pam Vermont Memorial Quiz.

July 31 at 8:30am, Modderfontein Conservation Society walk in the Reserve.

August 13 at 8:30am, Modderfontein Conservation Society walk in the Reserve.

August 18 at 7:30pm, Modderfontein Conservation Society evening talk at the Town Hall – The Endangered Wildlife Trust’s Boaz Tsebe gives an update on the ‘Development and management of the Modderfontein Reserve’.

August 28 at 8:30am, Modderfontein Conservation Society walk in the Reserve.

September 10 at 8:30am, Modderfontein Conservation Society walk in the Reserve.

September 15 at 7:30pm, Modderfontein Conservation Society evening talk at the Town Hall: Heritage Talk for Heritage Month – speaker to be advised.

September 24 at 8:00am and 10:30am, Heritage Day walks around the Heritage Precinct of historic Modderfontein. Also visit The Dynamite Company Museum and Franz Hoenig Haus.

September 25 at 8:30am, Modderfontein Conservation Society walk in the Reserve.

October 8 at 8:30am, Modderfontein Conservation Society walk in the Reserve.

October 20 at 7:30am Modderfontein Conservation Society evening talk at the Town Hall – speaker to be advised.

Attendees of the conservation society walks will meet at Fish Eagle Dam in the Reserve 15 minutes before the start time.
