SAPS searches for robbery suspects

The Cleveland SAPS is searching for the suspects involved with two separate incidents.

The Cleveland SAPS is looking for these men in connection with two unrelated robberies in the Cleveland SAPS precinct.

The Cleveland SAPS spokesperson, Constable Mpho Mashakane, said on October 23 last year a woman was attacked by two men on Monmouth and Persimmon streets.

The incident took place shortly after 10am

“She withdrew money from an ATM on Monmouth and Jules streets. While she was walking home, two men approached her. One of them pointed a firearm at her. The other one took her handbag and the men fled the scene,” said Const Mashakane.

She said there was money, jewellery and two cellular phones in the handbag.

In another incident, a woman was in her driveway on Alice Street in Kensington when two men hijacked her.

The incident took place on Monday, January 18, shortly before 7pm.

“She was about to drive off when two men approached her. One suspect pointed a firearm at her and ordered her to get out of her car. They ordered her to give them the car keys. She refused and one of them hit her in the face with a fist. The men took the keys and drove away in her car,” said Const Mashakane.

The victims were able to describe what the suspects looked like.

Const Mashakane said anyone with information that can lead to the arrest of these men can call the investigating officer, Warrant Officer Roy Shipalana, on 073 446 0162.
