JDA to host focus group sessions

25The Johannesburg Development Agency (JDA), along with its consultants, will host two focus group sessions with community representatives and property owners on Saturday, January 30.

The session will focus on the Inner City Eastern Gateway area for the JDA.

The area includes Ward 66 (Bertrams, Lorentzville, Judiths Paarl, Bez Valley and Kensington) Ward 65, Ward 61 (Troyeville, Jeppestown and Fairview) and Ward 123.

The framework to be discussed will guide land use rights for the next five years.

It will also define a development vision and objectives, including a prioritised action plan for key City interventions to be included in a Capital budget.

The purpose of the workshops will be to generate a shared and innovative future vision between users, residents and stakeholders in the area.

The morning session, which will take place from 9am to 12-noon, will cover wards 66 and 123.

The afternoon session, which will take place from 1pm to 3pm, will cover wards 61 and 65.

Both sessions will take place at 3 Helen Joseph Street, Newtown.
