Proudly SA visits malls

Mr Mashimbye said South Africa is one of the most economically and culturally diverse nations in the world.

Over the festive season, a team from Proudly South African (Proudly SA) visited shopping centres across the country to encourage shoppers to support local business. Eastgate Shopping Centre was one of the locations visited.

The team handed South African flags to shoppers and urged them to buy locally manufactured goods.

CEO of Proudly SA Mr Eustace Mashimbye reminds citizens that they can identify local products by the Proudly SA logo.

He said South Africa is one of the most economically and culturally diverse nations in the world.

“Our mission is to continually remind businesses and citizens from all pockets of society of the power they have to help grow this economy and to help create and sustain jobs locally, simply by buying and supporting local goods and services.”

Ms Happy Ngidi, chief marketing officer of Proudly SA, said shoppers were welcoming of the initiative and willing to make a contribution to job creation and towards the betterment of the South African economy.
