Bennies hosts tennis festival

Due to early morning rain on Sunday morning, two of the rounds could not be played.

The 10th St Benedict’s Invitational Tennis Festival was played recently.

The seven participating schools were St Benedict’s, St Stithians, King Edward VII School, St John’s, St David’s, HTS Middelburg and Westville Boys.

St Stithians put in a dominant performance, defending their title for the third year in a row.

St Benedict’s put forward a credible performance and started off with a win against HTS Middelburg (32-19).

Bennies went up against Westville Boys (19-17) before the rain interrupted play on Saturday afternoon.

They were were narrowly defeated by KES (22-21) and were leading St David’s (23-21) before the rain halted play on Sunday.
