Jeppe class of 2015 congratulated

Jeppe High School for Girls congratulated its class of 2015 on a 100 percent pass rate for the 22nd year in succession.

The entire class of 2015 at Jeppe High School for Girls achieved marks that allow them to progress to tertiary education, with 90 percent obtaining admission to a bachelor’s degree.

A total of 171 distinctions were obtained overall and 48 girls achieved an average of above 70 percent.

“Many of the girls did very well and we are very proud of the results which the 169 matriculants achieved this year” said Miss Dina Gonçalves, Headmistress.

“The results are a tribute to the hard work put in by the learners, the support they received from their parents and also most importantly, the grounding provided by dedicated educators from primary school right through to Grade 12. We wish the Matric class of 2015 every success in their future endeavours.”

Mariam Diallo was the top performer with 8 distinctions in English, Afrikaans, Mathematics, Physical Science, Life Science, Consumer Studies, History and Life Orientation.

Mariam plans to do a BSc in Mechanical Engineering at Wits and then she would like to specialize in robotics. She attended Sir Edmund Hillary Primary School.

Ammaarah Akhalwaya was awarded 7 distinctions in English, Afrikaans, Mathematics, Geography, Life Science, Physical Science and Life Orientation and she hopes to study Medicine at Wits. She attended Linksfield Primary School.

Six distinctions went to Angelique Pereira (ex Highveld Primary School), Caryn Marx (ex Hurlyvale Primary School) and Azminah Jhetam (ex Leicester Road School)

Nolwazi Mamba, Meghan Jarvis, Dominique Pereira, Jodi Lailvaux, Micheala Mendes, Izaria Hassim and Kayley Reveley obtained five distinctions each.

Jo-Anne Pringle, Carina Da Costa and Kajal Deokali obtained four distinctions each.
