Pair arrested after shooting two people

“While they were talking to the community members, the officers heard gunshots coming from a property nearby."

It is not yet clear why two people were shot in Yeoville on Sunday, December 6, at about 8am.

The Yeoville SAPS spokesperson, Constable Thabo Malatji, said the police officers were patrolling when they were stopped by community members along Bezuitenhout Street.

“While they were talking to the community members, the officers heard gunshots coming from a property nearby. They went to investigate. They found two people with gunshot wounds. One suspect was holstering a firearm while the other was trying to flee the scene,” said Const Malatji.

Both suspects were arrested and the two victims were taken to a nearby hospital.
