Residents apprehend suspect

Const Malatji urged the community to come forward with information that can lead to the arrest of the remaining two men.

The Yeoville SAPS thanked residents for apprehending a house robbery suspect, next to the corner of Pope and De Larey streets on Sunday, December 6, shortly after 1am.
The Yeoville SAPS spokesperson, Constable Thabo Malatji, said the victims woke up to three men, two of whom were armed.
“The men threatened to shoot the victims if they made a noise. The men took cellular phones before fleeing the scene,” he said.
He said the victim followed the suspects from a distance.
“He alerted other residents. They all followed the suspects and managed to apprehend one of the men. The SAPS was called and the man was arrested.
Const Malatji urged the community to come forward with information that can lead to the arrest of the remaining two men.
