UPDATE: Outcome of ‘gold tooth’ case delayed
NEWS received this information on request for clarification on the announcement made by Edenvale CPF that the constable had been found not guilty.
The outcome of the departmental hearing against the Edenvale constable known as “Gold Tooth” has been delayed.
The NEWS was informed that the hearing has been delayed as one of the complainants who needs to testify is not in the country. The team conducting the hearing will have to go through the embassy for the complainant to testify.
The NEWS received this information on request for clarification regarding the announcement made by the Edenvale Community Police Forum (ECPF) yesterday, that the constable had been found not guilty.
The ECPF posted on its Facebook page last night that, “The ECPF can confirm that the SAPS constable, commonly known as Gold Tooth to the general public, has been found not guilty due to insufficient evidence. He is currently back on duty and has been transferred to another police station. We have no further information at this time.”
The NEWS has since been informed the constable is back on duty as his suspension period is over.
