Rand Aid creates compliance officer post

She holds a post-graduate degree in law and is a qualified attorney and conveyancer with corporate and company secretarial experience.

Ms Amanda Diener joined the Rand Aid Association as the compliance officer, a new post created by the organisation on November 1.

According to CEO Rae Brown, the post was created to ensure that Rand Aid continues to comply with relevant legislation and that good governance remains one of its top priorities.

Ms Diener looks forward to contributing to the organisation’s sustainability and expanding its outreach projects, her long-term vision and goal.

“My experience at Rand Aid has so far been positive and encouraging. It feels like I am part of a big family,” she said.

Ms Diener returned to South Africa in January 2015 after spending six-and-a-half years in Oxford, the United Kingdom, with her husband who took a research position in the country. She holds a post-graduate degree in law and is a qualified attorney and conveyancer with corporate and company secretarial experience.

After qualifying, she lectured for three years and then practised as an attorney, mainly doing conveyancing and administration of deceased estates.

“I subsequently gained extensive legal and company secretarial administrative experience in the corporate world. While living abroad I gained further administrative and managerial experience both in the private and academic spheres,” she said.
