‘I am not an active member of the Cyrildene ANC branch’ – CCPF chairperson

The Cleveland Community Police Forum’s (CCPF) chairperson, Ms Alison Roberts, has said she is “not an active member of the Cyrildene ANC branch”.
The EXPRESS published an article (No comment from CCPF chairperson), regarding concerns about Ms Roberts being the CCPF chairperson and a politician.
Ms Roberts has since issued the following statement:
“Firstly, I did respond as I was quoted in the article. Secondly, I am not an active member of the Cyrildene ANC branch. I am not even a member of the Cyrildene ANC branch. The journalist have been taken to task for making this statement as it is inaccurate. If it is not rectified, I will be going to the press ombudsman.
“As stated, if people do have issues they are welcome to approach any of the structures of the Community Policing Forum and we will gladly respond to the issue raised. Faceless allegations will not be entertained. For the record, I am not currently a politician.”
