Woman robbed in driveway

Before fleeing the scene, one of the suspects bit the woman's finger to get her ring off.

A woman’s finger was bitten during a robbery in Florence Avenue last Monday.

The Bedfordview SAPS spokesperson Warrant Officer Mduduzi Nhlabathi said the woman was arriving home when the robbers tailgated her.

“The victim reported that while she waited for the gate to close, a car pulled up behind her. They demanded her belongings while pulling her bags from the car,” said W/O Nhlabathi.

Before fleeing the scene, one of the suspects bit the woman’s finger to get her ring off. The victim’s watch and handbag were also taken.

W/O Nhlabathi said the SAPS is investigating a case of robbery with a firearm.

“The victim said her handbag contained her wallet and cards,” he said.

The items taken are estimated to be valued at R150 000.

W/O Nhlabathi said police investigations were underway to apprehend the suspects.

No arrests had been made at the time of going to press.
