Rhodes Park double murder suspect’s bail application postponed

The 24-year-old man from Zimbabwe was arrested after two couples were attacked on October 17.

The man arrested in connection with the October 17 Rhodes Park double murder will reappear in court for his bail application on November 24.

The 24-year-old man from Zimbabwe was arrested after two couples were attacked by a gang of 12 men.

The husbands were assaulted and had their hands tied before they were thrown into the lake, where they later drowned. One woman was raped while the other fought off her attackers and managed to escape.

A source close to the investigation said more arrests are expected soon.

Some of the items that were taken from the couples have been recovered.

The source said the police are following positive links to other suspects.

The gang is said to have been terrorising Rhodes Park visitors for several months, before they allegedly killed the two men and raped one woman.
