New chair aims for financial stability

"I would like to achieve a sustainable financial position in order to develop and grow the Edenvale Child Welfare Centre."

Child Welfare SA – Edenvale recently welcomed its new chairperson.

Mr Pieter le Roux, who worked for Eskom for 35 years and at the Airports Company for four years, has been a volunteer at the centre since his early retirement.

He moved to Edenvale when he came out the army and has been a resident in the area for 40 years.

Mr Le Roux enjoys sailing his boat on the Vaal River during his spare time when he’s not working in the community.

“After I retired, I started helping around in the community. I helped at old age homes and used to fix the jungle gyms and do other odd jobs at Child Welfare.

“I’m still helping at a few retirement homes and I am proud to have been elected as the chairperson for the Edenvale Child Welfare Centre at our last AGM,” said Mr Le Roux.

He said his main priority as the newly elected chairman is to obtain financial stability for the centre.

“I would like to achieve a sustainable financial position in order to develop and grow the Edenvale Child Welfare,” he said.

Mr Le Roux also said that before any plans can be made, the survival of the centre is of utmost importance.
