Bogus client robs business owner

"As they were talking, two men entered with guns in their hands."

A businesswoman was robbed by a bogus client on Saturday, October 10, shortly after 12pm.

The incident took place along Marcia Street in Bruma.

The Cleveland SAPS communications officer, Constable Mpho Mashakane, said the manager was called to the reception area of the company to attend to a customer.

“A customer who pretended to be looking for a spot to open a cellular phone store demanded to talk to the manager urgently. As they were talking, two men entered with guns in their hands. They pointed the guns at the manager. They tied her feet and hands. The bogus client then demanded the keys to the safe,” said Const Mashakane.

She said the men fled with laptops, cellular phones and a large sum of money before feeing the scene.
