Prizes awarded to top arresting officers

"This month we had a surprise prize-giving for our best performing members."

The Sebenza SAPS held its monthly lecture on September 23 at the Sebenza Police Station.

The Sebenza SAPS communications officer, Constable Sharon Mahamba-Tsotsotso, said even though the lectures are held every month, this month was different as they decided to have an awards ceremony to honour those who excelled in their duties during the month of August.

“This month we had a surprise prize-giving for our best performing members. Prizes were given to those who made the most arrests,” said Const Tsotsotso.

She urged the public to work with the police in combating crime by reporting any criminal activity they witness and to provide the police with all the necessary information to ensure those doing crime are prosecuted.

The Sebenza SAPS was the top performer for the month of August in the Tembisa cluster, which consists of nine stations.

Const Tsotsotso said the prize-giving was held to remind SAPS members of what is expected of them.
