Speakers talk about heritage

Seven speakers took to the stage and delivered speeches, mostly stories from their past.

Members and visitors of the Modderfontein Breakfast Club celebrated Heritage Month on September 26 by wearing bright colours and items representing their specific heritage.

Seven speakers took to the stage and delivered speeches, mostly stories from their past, including a Competent Communicator 1 which was presented by Mr Thoriso Maseng about himself and his journey thus far.

The Toastmasters programme consists of a Communication Track and a Leadership Track. The Competent Communicator is the first award in the Communication Track and this is where the vital skills of constructing and delivering a speech are learnt. The programme is self-paced and each member can work through the programme at their own speed in order to achieve the highest accolade, The Distinguished Toastmaster award.
