Robbers target Morninghill couple

While the husband was opening the door for his sister in-law, who was also in the car, three men approached them and pointed firearms at the man.

A couple was robbed as they arrived at their home along Bernard Road in Morninghill recently.

The Bedfordview SAPS communications officer, Sergeant Mduduzi Nhlabathi, said three men held the couple at gunpoint as they arrived home on September 15.

“While the husband was opening the door for his sister in-law, who was also in the car, three men approached them and pointed firearms at the man.

“When his wife screamed, one of the men pointed a firearm at her. She was told to switch off the vehicle. The men forced the three into the house and locked them into a room,” said Sgt Nhlabathi.

He said the men drove off in the couple’s car.

“Inside the car was the woman’s handbag which had her wallet, bank cards and drivers license. There were also new children’s clothing, among other items, in the car,” he said.
